Expanded Universe Imperial Sentinel Action Figure
In 1996, Hasbro attempted to introduce
a small line of character from Star Wars not directly related to the
films and based on the Shadows of the Empire action figure line which
was part of a multimedia project which included a novel, Nintendo 64/PC
Game and Comic Books by Dark Horse Comics. One had to read the novel,
play the game and read the comic in order to fully understand the
intertwined plot.
1998 marked Hasbro's return to the Expanded Universe of novels, games
and comics which mixed both characters that were well known and
characters from other media. Hasbro switched the packaging from Freeze
Frame Action Slides which were utilized in the Power of the Force
action figure line to cards which could pop out to open three
dimensional scenes where one could place the characters on them. The
backs had small slits for this very creative idea of these very useful
backgrounds.

Imperial Sentinels guard the Emperor's chambers.
Imperial Sentinel
Imperial Sentinels were responsible for guarding the citadel of the reborn Clone Emperor
on planet Byss. Planet Byss is in the outer regions of space. These
armored cloaked warriors stood guard with their Pole-Axes. Little
is known of their origin and some speculate that they are cyborgs or
perhaps droids created by an ancient race of beings
unknown.
