Klaatu the Skiff Guard

     Klaatu was one of Jabba the Hutt's many Skiff Guards. In Return of the Jedi he is seen various times. During the production of the film, the name Nikto doubled as both a character and species name. In the Expanded Universe, the fact is revealed that Nikto was the species. Klaatu was a representative of a different Nikto sub-race. The Barada was a Klatooinian.

     Klaatu was first sold on a 65 Back. What is a 65 back one might ask? The answer is simple. Turn over the carded Star Wars action figure and count the number of characters on the back of it. Variations that exist are that some of the figures have thicker fur on the loin cloth. Others have thinner fur. Here is a list of the cards that Klaatu was sold on:

     Klaatu only appeared on the Return of the Jedi card. The scene depicted on the card is of him at Jabba's Palace. A scene of villany with various seedy characters in the smoke filled background.
