Return of the Jedi Lumat the Ewok Vintage Action Figure
Lumat the Ewok
Lumat
Ewoks inhabited the forrest moon of Endor who helped the Rebels fight the Imperial forces in the Battle of Endor. When General Solo landed with his Strike Team, he encountered Imperial Scout Troopers. A chase of Imperial speeder Bikes ensued with the team being split up. Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia chased after some of the Biker Scouts.Han and his Rebel Commandos fought the rest of the Imperials. Leia was seperated from Luke Skywalker who later met up with Han. Wicket the Ewok encountered Leia, a Scout Trooper took a pot shot at her. She fought off the Imperial and Wicket guided her to his Ewok Village. Han and his team are captured by an Ewok rope net only after Chewbacca smelled some meat for the trap which ironically Luke told him to wait and not touch.
Key Ewoks of the Tribe included:
- Chief Chirpa
- Logray the Medicine Man
- Lumat
- Papaloo
- Romba
- Teebo
- Warok
- Wicket W.Warrick
When C-3PO is first seen by the Ewoks, they immediately start to worship him. He is flattered for his team, Chewbacca, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker are to be cooked and served as food for him in his honor. His companions laugh at what is transpiring. R2-D2 whistles and beeps also as if in laughter.
Luke tells C-3PO to
advise them that he will become mad at them by using his special power.
Luke uses the "Force" to trick the Ewoks by floating C-3PO into the
air. Scared with fright, all of them run around, they release the
captives. Leia is reunited with the team. A deal is struck after a
lengthy discussion by the Tribe Elders.
Lumat the Ewok was the tribes Chief Woodcutter. Trees are a very important aspect of Ewok culture. One Chief is the head of the Tribal Council of Elders. A Medicine Man is a healer for the injured who keeps items of mystical lore in his bag. Ewoks dwell high among the trees in the forrest of Endor in villages that are built between the closely spaced trees. Ewoks are omnivorous beings who hunt on the forrest floor by setting their many traps to catch various prey.
Han with the help of Rebel Commandos enabled him to take over the Shield Generator by surprise at first. Imperial reinforcements arrived to capture Han. The Ewoks turned the tide for the Rebel Alliance by attacking the Imperials in the Battle of Endor where a lot of Ewok lives were lost. What is most amazing is that a band of natives with no little or no technology was able to overcome a Legion of Emperor Palpatines best men. The Ewoks used primitive weapons to fight the battle such as:
- Battle Wagons
- Bordock Vehicles
- Catapults
- Hang Gliders
- Rocks
- Ropes
- Slings
The Rebels were able to destroy
the Shield Bunker which protected the Death Star Space Station. General
Lando Calrissian in the Millennium Falcon Spaceship with his Co-Pilot,
a Sullustan named Nien Nunb were able to fly their ships into the
center of the partially constructed fully operational Death Star and
shoot at its Central Core.

This combination of teamwork executed on land and in space brought an end to the Imperial control. All of the Ewoks celebrated the end of the Empire with the members of the Rebel Alliance long into the night with music, food and drink. The Jedi Spirits also were in attendance, they all looked on with approval at Luke at the festivities. This figure is known as the "last 17" of the series that was sold along with the rest of the very scarce figures.
