We're newbies on eBay and had already encounter many scammers.

Infact, our very first sale was a scam as the winning bidder's account was hacked into and thus the bid considered null and void.

We were very disappointed as it didn't mean a good start for our business but we became very careful, making sure that payments were made and only dealt with locals or people with good feedbacks.

Everything went well, and we were very happy that at least sales were being made and our customers have nothing but good feedback for us.

Until in August, we fell prey into a scammer's web.

Again, this account was believed to have been hacked into, with a score of 51 good feedback.  They (husband and wife) claimed to be volunteers from Germany active in the Children's Rights community and have foster children in Philippines.  They write well and paid on time, via Paypal.  However, they made a 'silly mistake' and paid more than the invoiced item and of course we were the kind souls who could help them remit the extra money along with the gift to their foster child in Philippines.

Sadly, we only realise now that this scammer had been going around 'cheating' many eBay sellers and we contacted 2 of them to confirm that they had already fallen prey to his scams because they had both received chargeback via Paypal.

We're now all out to catch all scammers and will not hesitate to to go to higher authorities for the appropriate action to be taken.

Wonder why these people cannot get a decent paying job to support themselves instead of constantly thinking of creative ways to cheat others. 

Do they really feel happy spending someone else's hard earned money?
