Question: "What is the difference between Christianity and Judaism?"

Answer: Of the major world religions, Christianity and Judaism are very similar. Christianity and Judaism both believe in one God who is almighty, omniscient, omnipresent, eternal, and infinite. Both religions believe in a God who is Holy, righteous, and just, while at the same time loving, forgiving, and merciful. Christianity and Judaism share the Hebrew Scriptures (the Old Testament) as the authoritative Word of God, although Christianity includes the New Testament as well which came over 500 years after the Hebrew Bible was closed, (just as in Islam the Koran came 600+ years after the Christian religion started ; both religions claim that their truth is based on the Torah, ie the Hebrew Bible known as the 5 Books of Moses).

 Both Christianity and Judaism believe in the existence of heaven, the eternal dwelling place of the righteous, and hell, the eternal dwelling place of the wicked, though Judaism believes that Hell is the place for the wicked, it turns into a spiritual dimension after 11 months where the pain of the soul cannot be described. Christianity believes Hell to be a physical place. Christianity and Judaism have basically the same ethical code, commonly known today as Judeo-Christian. Both Judaism and Christianity teach that God has a special plan for the nation of Israel and the Jewish people and that they will one day teach all mankind about the God Of Israel, his invisibility and non-corporeal matter, only Spirit; unlike Christianity which teaches in a concept of a man-god, ie a physical form of god which is unsubstantiated anywhere in the Biblical tradition and in whom Jesus himself did not believe in.

The all-important difference between modern day Christianity and Judaism is the Person of Jesus. Christianity teaches that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies of a coming god Messiah. Judaism sees Jesus as a student of first Century CE Pharisaic Rabbi's who went off the path of Orthodox Judaism. Christianity teaches that Jesus was God in the flesh (John 1:1,14; Hebrews 1:8) Judaism basing itself on the Hebrew Bible states that this is idolatry. Christianity teaches that God became a human being in the Person of Jesus. This is heretical to Judaism and the Bible which recognises in the God of Israel (and Humanity) as being non corporeal. Most Christian scholars today agree that to believe in jesus as a god was foreign to Judaism of the 1st century, and that this was a later development of pauline christianity and finally codified as a belief at the Council of Nicea in the 4th century under the  forceful "guidance" of the pagan Roman Emperor Constantine.

Jesus  is the all-important distinction between Christianity and Judaism. The Person and work of Jesus  is the one primary issue that Christianity and Judaism cannot agree upon.
Christianity is also different than Judasim in regard to the observance of the 613 commandments found in the Torah, ie the Hebrew Bible. Judaism believes that what God gave to the Jewish people is forever to do for their children and their children forever, just as it says in the Book of Deuteronomy. Christians don't believe that ANY of the commandments are obligatory; all one has to do is just believe in jesus and all his sins are forgiven. Judaism affirms that one has to act righteous in the eyes of God as well as mankind,Christianity does not.

Judaism does not believe that all of humanity should become Jews, rather, non-jews can become righteous by following the 7 Noachide laws given to the first man created by God, Adam the father of ALL mankind. (Google Noahide laws for more information) Christianity believes that all of mankind MUST become Christans or be damned in Hell for eternity, no matter how kind or righteous a person may be, belief in jesus is a necessity to bring you to eternal life, something which seems to go against the Hebrew Bible.

The many texts found in the New testament dealing with so called "messianic prophecies" that jesus fulfilled, are when taken with an open mind, completely taken out of context of the original Hebrew Scriptures. The only basis for modern day Christianty can be found in the Greek language New Testament and the Church, Protestant or Catholic which base their theology on the New Testament. The Hebrew Bible Scriptures are only used as secondary proof for their theology. The 5  fundamental beliefs of Christianity:
1)Jesus born of a Virgin
2)Jesus was God
3)Belief in Jesus exclusively
4)The Torah & the Commandments are abrogated
5)Jesus died for the sins of mankind
are not to be found in the entire Hebrew Bible and are therefore rejected by all Bible believing Jews and Noahides.
