Rules
Be sure to take a close look at all of the rules that are clearly
stated. Some choose to rant and rave about certain sellers or the
actions of those who they feel are doing something wrong. Always
follow the rules or you could find out that what you have written was
removed by ebay's Moderation team if you violated policy.I am all for the freedom of speech and the 1st Amendment but do remember that we are in the house of ebay and in ebay's house, we should strive to follow ebay's rules and not be bad guests.
ebay Guides homepage:
Asking others to vote for your Guides is perfectly fine with ebay. Vote
Trading is what some call this action. It is perfectly legal, ethical
and moral. I have had numerous ebayers email me and ask me to check out
their Guides especially after what we call the no-monger" (someone who
votes no on purpose) voted no on their Guides and Reviews. I usually
find nothing wrong with any of the content that I read and vote YES on.
If I disagree with a Guide, I simply abstain from voting NO on it. Really, what is the point in voting NO in the first place. There was and idea of changing the present yes/no voting system to a star system with the following:
- 5 out of 5 (100%)
- 4 out of 5 (80%)
- 3 out of 5 (60%)
- 2 out of 5 (40%)
- 1 out of 5 (20%)
About ME page:
If you do not have an about "ME" page, consider creating one. This is
the only area where you are allowed a link to your own website or if
you wish to promote a friends website. You can share information about
who you are and what you sell.My World:
This is a fairly new concept for ebay members. You can choose to place
further information about yourself and who you are. Be wary of placing
too much information here unless you do not have a problem with doing
so. Some feel that My World is very intrusive yet, you can be
selective about what you choose to place there. A great new feature is
that you can add a guest book on your My World page. Now you can add a image to your My World page that will appear on all of your Guides and ebay Blogs. Also, a new feature is that you can add a Guestbook on My World also.
My Blogs:
Blogs are a great way to start a journal or promote your ebay Store or
auctions if you are not a Store owner. You can receive a lot of vital
traffic to your auctions. My personal Blogs cover issues that might or
might not seem controversial to some but I choose to enlighten others
with my personal knowledge. Did you know that the first female
Presidential Candidate was Victoria Claflin Woodhull in 1872? I wrote a
Blog about her.I have written a Blog each month for my readers to enjoy. Lately, I did take a long extended break due to some work on a house I had to finsih. I will be back with yet another idea for a Blog in which I want my readers to think, learn and grow!
